Hello, I’m writing because Everette True did a feature on my old band Agent Ribbons a few years back. I’m not sure how to get in touch with him but I wanted to see if he or anyone there would be interested in premiering or featuring a music video/diy video art piece for my new band Technicolor Hearts. This is a secret link to the video if you’d like to watch. Thank you for your time, Naomi

I love it when folk spell my name with an extra ‘e’. It seems to ascribe femininity to me; or, at the least, a little touch of the French. It sends tiny little tremors down me, the hint of the exotic.

Yes, I will pay attention if a former member of Agent Ribbons writes me an email. The only feature I wrote as a tribute to and for Bust – that fine, fine magazine Bust – was an interview with Natalie from that band but only after I called her out on being diffident towards me simply because I was some ‘music critic’. We became email love buddies later: the shock of the unexpected. One time, I’m sure, I saw Miranda Sex Garden busking down Portobello Road market. I might be wrong, but rarely does one forget Such Beauty. Nights I spend high, dreaming of the haze that alone only female magik brings. Nights, I spend dreaming of the sea and mystery. Days, I am alone in dreary heaven: listening to ‘Pochaunted’ it feels like I’m witness to secrets that are are all the more beguiling for their distance. You could say CocoRosie and I would listen. I mean, why wouldn’t I listen? There’s that same strange sense of otherness. That same Disconcerting yearning.

OK. I’m not sure you understand what I’m doing here. Let me spell it out for you.

For immediate release Austin dream pop duo Technicolor Hearts debut a new music video on October 27th and announce performance at Fun Fun Fun Fest Nites on November 8th. Austin based musical project Technicolor Hearts is a dream pop noir duo laced with elements of folk, psychedelia and orchestral sounds. Their upcoming music video for “Pocahaunted” off of their debut EP Under the Big Blue Umbrella Sky will be released on October 27th. With a strong background in the visual arts band members Naomi Cherie and Joseph Salazar self produced and directed the video which was filmed over the course of their recent six month west coast tour and includes scenes shot in several places along the way.

Yes, I will pay attention if one-half of Agent Ribbons writes me an email. The only feature I wrote as a tribute to and for Bust – that fine, fine magazine Bust – was an interview with Natalie from that band but only after I called her out on being diffident towards me simply because I was some ‘music critic’. “We filmed choreographed movement in the forests of central Texas with the Woven Feet troupe, improvisational art-dance pieces on the shores of an enchanting Malibu oceanscape and more scenes among the moss laden giants in the wet earth-scented Redwood forests of the Pacific Northwest,” says Cherie.

And who am I to deny them that? Apologies for amending Cherie’s ‘amongst’ to ‘among’ but it’s near obsessive-compulsive disorder for me, that unnecessary s and t.

I miss invisible ink.

This is their new video. Here.

I love this one too, but you already knew that. It’s like living in the lovely parts of Narnia, with Queen Susan.
