Song of the day – 261: Golden Triangle

The name of the album is. Double Jointer. The name of the band is Golden Triangle. The place? Brooklyn, of course.

I love everything about the following song: the lyrics, the performance, the sound, the thud thud thud of the drums, the blurred art video, the way it makes me think of Brisbane’s own Blank Realm – a sister band, all the way across the Pacific? – the thud thud thud of the drums, the repetition and low-level female harmonies, the Sonic Youth factor, the way the song and melody drops in and out, the buzz and burr of instrumentation, the occasional variance in emotion in the vocals, the repetition, the sheer solid locked-in-ness of the groove, the way I seem to be stuck in Coney Island on a fucking freezing cold winter’s day, the way I’m not actually stuck in Coney Island on a fucking freezing cold winter’s day… everything, I’m telling you. EVERYTHING!

Go on. Have yourselves a listen why.
