I don’t see anyone else stepping up to the plate and taking this challenge. I don’t see any web editors lining up to syndicate this series either.

SA Rawls – Never Gonna Touch The Ground
Confused, chipper dude wishes he was a) living in the 60s, b) pinch-hitting for Pavement, c) back at school, d) surrounded by goodness. Probably drinks way too much coffee. Music that is – love it, hate it, boot it halfway across the ocean back to Sweden – irredeemably positive.

Mathew Sawyer – How Snakes Eat
Ants are crawling into my tea cup. My son is screaming. Our own sweet, lost Mr Sawyer is singing wistfully of bullies and English tea cups, myna birds and the digestive tracts of wriggling creatures. He still sounds blue. His music still clatters, like a tea set falling off a counter in Ana da Silva’s kitchen. He is still the king of our hearts.

Wet Dog – Frauhaus!
Smash. Ow! Splatter. Ow! LA LA LA LA LA. Ow ow! Budda budda budda budda. Ow ow! Ah-ah-ah. Smash smash. Smash smash. (Ducks.) (Hides.) Smash! Ow ow. (Scurries around quickly.) Tinkle tinkle tinkle tinkle. It’s like 1980 never arrived.

Karen O And The Kids – Where The Wild Things Are OST
She smiles, beatific. She smiles, and the whole world closes its mouth and crawls in. She smiles, and the mystery widens and welcomes and starts to roll round crazily in the dirt, racing round the same floor circuit 10 times in a row. She smiles, and refuses to stop smiling. This is the most glorious kids’ music I’ve heard since Clarence ‘Frogman’ Carter.
