So I tried Pandora just now. Its slogan is: Listen to Free Internet Radio. Find New Music. I was psyched.
It’s a shambles. A glorious shambles. In my brain, I’m slumped down on the stage, my head clasped in my hands.
Immolation and insulation and isolation and imagination. The opposite of sex. Serious music for serious people.
Why do music fans have to be so reductionist. Does everyone HAVE to think the same way?
I’m going to slip my fingers inside you. Is that all right?
So what does this tell us? That I still have a musical bone in my body? That we all reference from the familiar? That nothing is new? To my mind, it’s all about telling something true. And therein lies the spark.
