Song of the day – 498: The Pheremoans
As The Thin Kids song goes:
I don’t like who you like
I don’t like who you like
I don’t like who you like
I DON’T LIKE WHO YOU LIKE
Case in point – nasty, atonal, squalling, confrontational, plaintive guitar-led music on one of my favourite UK record label’s Upset The Rhythm. I like them because they sound how I feel most days:
It’s like it’s 1978 again and Robert Lloyd is still sarcastically singing sarcastically biting words in his sarcastic deadpan manner over sarcastic atonal deadpan guitars, going through the motions because there’s nothing else to do:
Those amateur wankers.
It’s like
As The Thin Kids song goes:
I don’t fuck who you fuck
I don’t fuck who you fuck
I don’t fuck who you fuck
I DON’T FUCK WHO YOU FUCK
But of course that ain’t true. I have the exact same sensibility and sexual attractiveness as that old man wandering around the street outside, tracing back his walk in circles, piss stains on his trousers, blank indifference on his face. (“Where did you get that blank expression on your face?”) I fuck when I can, what I can. Just like you, loser.
