Fever Fever - Artrocker

If this band were all male, the music press would be wetting themselves silly over them.

Just fucking glorious.

(From Song of the day – 192: Fever Fever)

I am a living cliché. I cannot resist music that sounds like this. I do not even attempt to.

Grating female vocals. Sound and fury. Never a pause for breath. Always another space to be filled in. Guitars that ricochet back and forth like they understand ‘Teenage Riot’ was when Sonic Youth turned spectacular. Frenzied. A sound that is equal parts post-punk and Riot Grrrl. (Are the two now indistinguishable?) From Norwich, one of the UK’s forgotten cities. Anger, oh yes. I have a feeling that my former beloved male-female art-rock band KaitO were from Norwich, and I have a feeling that Fever Fever probably know that fact too. Maybe this new trio even share a member? Who knows? Anyway, KaitO were ace, and Fever Fever were ace, and me…? Me? I’m a living cliché.

This drummer is awesome. I haven’t drummed in about two years but this guy is so original that I am getting a craving. I have no idea how you came across this band but fucking hell… if it’s not the best new thing I’ve heard played on guitars in a band in a long while then I don’t know what it is… more please. Have they done an album? And you’re right about the why aren’t they on the cover of all the music papers yet? thing. So much utterly uninspired shit gets paraded about… unless this band is too inspired, too amazing and too creative to be noticed by merchants of bland selling to muso-lite fans? Music hasn’t gone shit. Music business just has. I blame Coldplay as per usual. They are the perfect scapegoats for the bland music boredom revolution. Lucky that there is an underground resistance going on called the Internet eh?
