Song of the day – 53: Lucky Delucci

There isn’t much these days that reminds me of Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci.

That’s to the good, of course. Occasionally, however, I miss those sweet laments and trippy lyrics and pastoral leanings, and the bubbling-under feeling of wonder. One time just after the Welsh troupe were surprisingly signed to a major label, I was phoned by their PR – “Hey Everett, their label has agreed to fly us anywhere we like for the next feature.” How about Gorky Park, I teasingly challenged. Couple of weeks later, lo and behold, photographer Pat Pope and I were fighting to sleep on the bathroom floor to get away from the other’s snoring, a block down from Red Square (which appeared to have been turned into a crap version of Alton Towers for the duration). The photo shoot was remarkably straightforward.

Whatever.

Here’s a song from Cardiff band Lucky Delucci which has taken my fancy. It makes me miss that wonderful, friendly End Of The Road festival something rotten, to tell you the truth. For a moment there, it felt like I belonged to something again.
