Song of the day – 116: 5 String Drop Out

Via Facebook, dude sends me a link to some of his music. I like his music. I post a link to it here. That’s how it works. Simple, huh?

He sent me the link to his music because a friend told him he should send me the link to his music. I listened to his music because I listen to most links to music I’m sent by individuals, even if it’s only for a few seconds and I really ought to be working on my book, or my PhD, or the Brisbane blog aggregation website instead. I like the way dude strums his acoustic guitar. He’s frantic. I like the way his vocals sound like they could be a Patrik Fitzgerald for 2010 even if I don’t understand a single one of his words. He’s frantic. I like the mindless repetition, and the Bo Diddley rhythms, and the way the dude clearly thinks he’s in Ramones or Barracudas even though he just one single solitary lonely dude, and probably doesn’t shower too often. He’s frantic. I like the fact he feels frantic and I like the slightly distorted nature of the recording. And so I write about it here.

That’s how it works. Simple, huh?

Oh yeah. The link. Have a listen to ‘Go Away’. That’s the best song on offer, I reckon.

Over and out.
