After how catchy Ruin was I was really disappointed when I finally got to hear the album. The production is so awful on tracks 1 and 2 that I gave up until someone told me it improved after Ruin. When I day bad I mean those tracks are so over-compressed that when the bass drum hits you can hear that sighing sound as the music around gets quieter. It's like how Teen Spirit on radio destroys the dynamic as the intro gives way to the drums and loud guitars.

I could have lived with that but what happened to her lyrics? You Are Free and The Greatest are full of lyrical poetry and ideas, yet in Sun it feels like she's barely bothered. Maybe the idea is that her voice is just another instrument but aside from Ruin, none of the songs really felt good enough to carry it off.
