The Muppets cover ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’

Worth a blog entry of its own, I think.

In its own way, as mind-blowing as that recent appearance by Elvis Costello on Sesame Street. Great to hear Fozzie Bear taking the lead in this frenzy of dysfunctional, atonal shouting and the occasional tuneful bit. Reminds me of Furious Pig, quite strongly … to the degree, that you wonder whether a former member or two took some part in this.  Couldn’t hear the reference to “load up on guns/And bring your friends” during the first three listens but it wouldn’t surprise me if Gonzo has managed to slip it in somewhere. The start is perfect. I bet the two old men who sit in the balcony were creasing themselves up over this.

And yes … fuck yes … I reckon Kurt would have approved. For sure.
