Brisbane’s own experimental, electronica, melodic and laptop label Room 40 recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary.

So those crazy fools have put together a 40-track compilation that you can download for free by going here.

FORTY FUCKING TRACKS!! THAT’S THREE ENTIRE FUCKING HOURS OF FREE MUSIC?! Xiu Xiu, Tojiko Noriko, Tenniscoats, Leighton Craig, I8U, Glim and the gang. What are you waiting for?

Whoa.

Here’s some music and a film from the totally awesome Tenniscoats.

Some grousebumps. After listening to this, I’m sucking on lemons, wishing others would consider the experiemental music that has been occurring in China over the recent calanders and slightly beyond. A child grows up minus beatles and a specifically westernisied understanding of aesthetic turns. Yet….Sun Dawei, Torturing Nurse, Wu Quan, Li Jianhong, D!O!D!O!D, and Shenggy from Hang on the Box.

A local cover of Baibaba Bimba by McKisko appears on the Soundcrane record. Done by McKisko – it’s awesome.
